Specna Arms introduces a rechargeable battery specifically designed for airsoft guns, developed in collaboration with the renowned battery manufacturer, Gens Ace. This partnership has resulted in a distinctive battery pack that offers several advantages, including shortened cables to save valuable space and a G-Tech plug that is compatible with chargers equipped with a G-Tech socket. Once connected to the G-Tech socket, the charger will automatically recognize the battery within five seconds and select the optimal charging mode.

Advantages of Li-Po Batteries

Lithium-ion-polymer (LiPo) packs are the successors to the well-known lithium-ion (LiIon) packs. The primary advantage of LiPo batteries is their exceptional capacity-to-size ratio. Despite their compact size, they maintain a high current capacity, making them suitable for virtually any AEG replica. They do not suffer from memory effect, allowing for frequent charging without the need for prior discharge. In fact, frequent charging is beneficial for this type of battery.

Usage and Maintenance Guidelines

• Do not discharge a LiPo pack below 3V per cell or overcharge it above 4.2V per cell.
• LiPo packs have a low self-discharge rate, losing only about 3-5% of their energy per month when not in use.
• Monitor the pack during extended storage to prevent discharge below the permissible minimum value (3V per cell), which can lead to irreversible chemical reactions and potential damage, including ignition.
• An unused LiPo pack should maintain an average charge of approximately 70%.

Longevity and Operating Conditions

When used correctly, LiPo packs typically last between 500-700 cycles. A critical factor is the temperature at which LiPo packs operate. Unlike other batteries, LiPo cells perform well at low temperatures; however, they should be charged at room temperature. To maintain LiPo batteries in optimal condition, they should be balanced during charging using the service plug that most LiPo packs feature. A quality LiPo charger will include a built-in balancer.
