The Umarex Glock 17 Gen.5 is the first officially licensed CO2 replica of the Austrian Glock 17 Gen.5 pistol. It is a gas blowback (GBB) pistol powered by a 12g CO2 capsule, feeding from a metal magazine with a 14 BB capacity, and is aimed at airsoft users seeking a realistic, detail-accurate training and skirmish sidearm.
The replica reproduces the licensed markings of manufacturer Glock GmbH on the slide and belongs to Umarex's line of officially licensed gas pistols, distinguished by close attention to dimensional and functional accuracy relative to the original firearm. The Gen.5 version carries over the updated features of the real pistol design, including a revised grip shape and magazine well geometry.

Blowback and firing system
The pistol uses a CO2-powered gas blowback system: the slide cycles under recoil with each shot, replicating the sensation of firing the real firearm. As on the original Glock 17, the slide locks in the rear position once the last BB has been fired, and a manual safety is integrated into the trigger.
