The company's Redox cells represent a new quality in the market for batteries designed for airsoft replicas. Each cell is individually checked and manually paired with the remaining battery cells, which ensures high quality and manufacturing precision. Each cell also has an individual ID number that allows the entire usage history of the battery to be tracked. This means that all batteries are covered by the manufacturer's 100% guarantee to replace the product with a new one if a manufacturing defect is found.

Redox Company's lithium polymer battery packs feature a good weight-to-size ratio and a very long service life without losing energy efficiency.

Lithium-ion (LiPo) battery packs are the successors to the well-known lithium-ion (LiIon) battery packs. The key advantage of LiPo batteries is undoubtedly the ratio of capacity to size. They are very small in size and at the same time very energy efficient, making it possible to choose a suitable battery pack for virtually any AEG replica. It has no memory effect. The batteries can be charged very often without being discharged first. Frequent charging is very beneficial for this type of battery pack.

It is necessary to remember not to discharge the LiPo battery below the level of 3V per cell and not to overcharge it above 4.2V per cell. Another advantage of the LiPo battery pack is a small self-discharge rate. An unused battery pack will lose only 3% to 5% of its energy. It is necessary to check the battery pack because if you store the battery pack for a long period of time, the battery pack may discharge below the minimum value ( 3V per cell ) and, thus, lead to irreversible chemical reactions that can cause the battery pack characteristics to deteriorate, including permanent damage and, in extreme cases, self-ignition. An unused LiPo battery pack should be charged to about 70%.

During proper use of LiPo battery packs, its service life should be about 500-700 cycles. The operating temperature of LiPo battery packs is very important. Unlike normal battery packs, LiPo cell performs quite well at low temperatures. However, they should be charged at room temperature. To keep LiPo battery packs in good condition, it is necessary to balance them during the charging process with the use of a service plug that most LiPo battery packs are equipped with (a good LiPo charger has a built-in balancer).

Safety Standards

LiPo batteries offer many advantages for airsoft guns, such as higher discharge rates and improved energy density. However, they require careful handling due to their volatile nature. This guide explains how to use LiPo batteries safely and effectively, including charging, storage, and disposal best practices.

Key Safety Points

Always use a LiPo-specific charger: LiPo batteries have unique charging requirements. Using an improper charger can result in fire or explosion.

Never overcharge: Overcharging can cause irreversible damage to the battery and may lead to fire or explosion. Always monitor the charging process and disconnect the battery once it's fully charged.

Never discharge below the minimum voltage: Over-discharging can permanently damage the battery. Most LiPo batteries have a minimum safe voltage of around 3.0V per cell.

Never puncture or crush the battery: This can cause a short circuit, leading to fire or explosion.

Store batteries in a cool, dry place: Extreme temperatures can damage LiPo batteries and reduce their lifespan.

Never expose batteries to flames or water: This can cause a short circuit or explosion.

Transport batteries safely: Always store LiPo batteries in a fireproof container when transporting them.

Dispose of batteries properly: LiPo batteries contain hazardous materials and should be disposed of at a designated battery recycling center.

Charging

Use a LiPo-specific charger: Using a NiMH or NiCd charger can damage the battery and cause a fire.

Set the correct charge rate: Consult the battery's specifications for the recommended charge rate. Overcharging can damage the battery and reduce its lifespan.

Balance charge your batteries: Balance charging ensures that all cells within the battery are charged to the same voltage. This helps to prolong the life of the battery and prevent damage.

Monitor the charging process: Never leave a LiPo battery unattended while charging. Always monitor the process and disconnect the battery once it's fully charged.

Charge in a safe area: Charge LiPo batteries on a non-flammable surface, away from flammable materials.

Storage

Store batteries at a safe voltage: Store LiPo batteries at a storage voltage of around 3.8V per cell. This helps to prolong the life of the battery and prevent damage.

Store batteries in a cool, dry place: Extreme temperatures can damage LiPo batteries and reduce their lifespan.

Store batteries in a fireproof container: This helps to prevent fires in case of a battery malfunction.

Disposal

Never dispose of LiPo batteries in the trash: LiPo batteries contain hazardous materials and should be disposed of properly.

Recycle LiPo batteries at a designated recycling center: This ensures that the batteries are disposed of safely and responsibly.

Troubleshooting

If a battery becomes swollen or damaged, stop using it immediately and dispose of it properly.

If a battery catches fire, use a fire extinguisher designed for lithium-ion battery fires.

By following these safety guidelines, you can ensure the safe and effective use of LiPo batteries for airsoft. Remember to always consult the battery's specifications and instructions for specific charging and storage recommendations.
