Specna Arms Sten MK.II RETRO AEG Submachine Gun with X-ASR MOSFET
The Specna Arms Sten MK.II RETRO AEG is a steel-bodied historical airsoft submachine gun created for WWII reenactors, collectors and players who appreciate authentic military designs. Developed in collaboration with S&T/AGM, the Specna Arms RETRO series combines faithful external reproduction with practical electric internals suitable for regular airsoft gameplay.
This model recreates the most widely recognised version of the British STEN: the MK.II. Its minimalist steel construction, side-mounted magazine and tubular receiver give it an unmistakable Second World War appearance, while the factory-installed GATE X-ASR MOSFET provides modern electrical protection and improved trigger response.
Faithful Replica of the British STEN MK.II
The original STEN MK.II was designed as a simple, economical and fast-to-produce submachine gun for British forces during the Second World War. Chambered for the 9×19 mm Parabellum cartridge, it became one of the most extensively produced British weapons of the conflict.
Its uncomplicated design allowed large-scale manufacturing and even clandestine production in occupied territories. More than four million STEN variants were produced, securing the platform’s place among the most recognisable infantry weapons of the 1939–1945 period.
The Specna Arms reproduction captures the characteristic profile of the original and is an excellent choice for historical skirmishes, demonstrations and collections of WWII airsoft guns.
Durable Steel Construction
The replica is constructed primarily from steel, giving it the weight, rigidity and industrial appearance expected from a convincing STEN airsoft gun. The solid external build enhances durability while preserving the utilitarian character of the original firearm.
At approximately 2565 g, the replica feels substantial without becoming excessively heavy. Its compact 76.5 cm overall length also makes it practical for woodland movement, trench scenarios and close-range historical games.
Quick Takedown Design
The Sten MK.II can be partially dismantled by loosening the bolt that connects the stock to the receiver. This reflects the straightforward construction of the original design and provides access to the battery compartment inside the stock.
Because the available space is narrow, battery dimensions must be checked carefully before purchase. During testing, a battery measuring approximately 125.2 × 20.4 × 10.4 mm was used successfully.
The internal stock compartment measures approximately:
- 265 mm in length
- 21.4 mm in internal diameter
The replica uses a DEANS/T-Plug connector. A suitable slim battery and compatible charger can be selected from the airsoft batteries and chargers collection.
GATE X-ASR MOSFET
The factory-installed GATE X-ASR MOSFET helps protect the electrical components and trigger contacts from excessive wear. It improves current flow, supports a more responsive trigger and can help extend the service life of the wiring and battery.
Integrated indicator LEDs also provide basic diagnostic information, assisting with the identification of selected electrical faults during maintenance or troubleshooting.
Version 7 Gearbox and Adjustable Hop-Up
The Specna Arms Sten MK.II is powered by a Version 7 gearbox and delivers a muzzle velocity of approximately 370 FPS. Its full-automatic firing mode reflects the role of the original submachine gun and makes the replica effective during assault scenarios and short-range engagements.
An adjustable hop-up system helps stabilise the BB in flight, improving useful range and shot consistency. The replica is fitted with a 225 mm inner barrel, providing a compact internal setup suited to its short external dimensions.
Always check the muzzle-energy limits and engagement rules of your local airsoft site before use.
120-Round Mid-Cap Magazine
The included side-mounted mid-cap magazine holds up to 120 BBs. Mid-cap operation eliminates the need for winding and reduces the ammunition rattle associated with high-capacity magazines.
This supports a more immersive style of historical gameplay while still providing sufficient ammunition for standard skirmishes. A BB speedloader is included for convenient loading.
Built for Historical Airsoft and Reenactment
The Specna Arms Sten MK.II RETRO is particularly suitable for:
- British WWII airsoft loadouts
- Second World War reenactments
- Historical and themed skirmishes
- Collectors of iconic military replicas
- Resistance and special-operations impressions
- Players seeking a compact steel AEG
The combination of authentic steel construction, compact dimensions and modern X-ASR electronics makes this replica equally appealing as a display piece and a functional historical airsoft gun.
